At Santa Fe Soccer Alliance (SFSA), our Recreational League is built around one simple mission: develop confident players while making soccer the most fun part of their week.

Whether your child is stepping onto the field for the first time or returning to continue their soccer journey, SFSA provides a positive, encouraging environment where every player can learn, improve, and fall in love with the game.

Our goal isn't just to teach soccer—we're building confidence, friendships, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong passion for the game.

 

A Development-First League

SFSA is a draft-based recreational league designed to create balanced teams while placing player development above everything else.

Every coach follows the same league-wide curriculum developed by our Academy Director, ensuring every player receives a consistent learning experience regardless of which team they are drafted to.

Many of our recreational training activities are adapted directly from our Academy Program, using age-appropriate progressions that are fun, engaging, and perfect for recreational players.

Because every coach teaches the same concepts, practices can be combined when needed, creating familiarity and continuity throughout the entire league.

Every Player Plays

We believe players improve by playing.

That's why every recreational player is guaranteed a minimum of 50% playing time. Every child deserves meaningful minutes on the field to build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the game.

At SFSA, development always comes before the scoreboard.

SFSA All-Star Program

Our Recreational League also offers an exciting opportunity to earn selection to the SFSA All-Star Team.

Throughout the season, standout players from each age division may be selected to represent Santa Fe Soccer Alliance in matches against Academy programs and other local recreational leagues.

It's a great opportunity for players to challenge themselves while proudly representing SFSA.

Partnership with YSI

Santa Fe Soccer Alliance is proud to partner with Youth Soccer International (YSI) in Gainesville.

Throughout the season:

• SFSA teams travel to Jonesville to play YSI.
• YSI teams travel to Alachua to compete at our fields.
• Players experience more games, new opponents, and additional opportunities for development.

This partnership helps create a fun, competitive, and community-focused recreational soccer experience.

Fall 2026 Season Timeline:

Registration Opens

July 1, 2026

Registration remains open until August 14, 2026, or until divisions reach capacity. We encourage families to register early, as several age groups often fill before the deadline.

 Mass Practice Days

August 18 & August 20

Players will:

• Meet coaches

• Participate in fun soccer activities

• Complete player evaluations

• Prepare for the upcoming season

 Team Practices Begin

August 25, 2026

Teams begin practicing with their assigned coaches while continuing the SFSA player development curriculum.
